Return

Cradle Will Rock (finally -- it is only around a month and a half since I said it was the movie I most wanted to see, and have seen at least half a dozen movies since then). Tim Robbins' exploration on several levels of how people sell themselves had too many plots to be entirely coherent, but was greatly entertaining anyway. If one or two were cut out and the rest lengthened and more of an explanantion made, it would have been spectacular. Unfortunately to me, the easiest subplot to remove would have been Bill Murray's ventriloquist, which would have deprived us of a wonderful performance; although that word could be applied to most of the acting (the biggest exception being the person playing John Houseman). 3 1/2 stars (out of 4).
