Drop Dead Gorgeous

Oh yeah, and I also saw Drop Dead Gorgeous, a broad -- very broad -- sendup of Midwestern pageant folk. Final analysis: I'd pay big $$$ to watch Denise Richards and Kirsten Dunst wrestle in mud (oil, what have you), but other than that, there's not much in this movie that hasn't already been done in Spinal Tap -- or even more closely, Waiting for Guffman. It's funny at first, but after 90 minutes, the all-small-town-folks-is-low-foreheaded-hicks schtick wears a bit thin. There are some decent gags, and Will Sasso is funny as the town retard/preevert, but not terribly memorable.

2 planets out of five -- and both are on Denise Richards' chest.
