I saw Miss Congeniality over the weekend.
I don't think Benajamen Bratt has what it takes for light comedy. Sandra Bullock is turning into the Fran Drescher of movies. The beauty pageant as a source to be mined for satire or comedy is pretty much a used up vein, resulting in few successes. Hard to trump reality.
Much of it is filmed at the Bass Center for the Performing Arts at UT-Austin and the Austin Hyatt Regency.
