Return

The best thing going for it is making Philip Seymour Hoffman the romantic love lead. The worst was the insipid sound track. Mamet uses language to distance us from the story, and this silly satire does that in this story of a bunch of aliens (LA movie types actually) invading a small Vermont town that could have been the quirky Scottish village in Local Hero.

Funny movie, but one can say the most outrageous thing about the movie industry, and still not compete with how outrageous it is in real life. Hoffman's romantic interest looks like a young Marlo Thomas.
