I saw "Ideal Husband" last night. More plot twists than I had expected for a comedy of manners (as they say). Rupert Everett was the perfect languid Victorian gentleman. I liked Jeremy Northam better in "Emma" (the Gwyneth Paltrow version) -- a mustache does *not* become him. Julianne Moore should have been spanked in public. I would love to see this on the stage -- especially the scenes where various people are behind various doors and keep the main character running between rooms. I kept thinking (as a Beltway Insider) that the political themes were just as apt today as they were 100 years ago.
