Consistently funny and borderline cruel film has Ben Stiller in his milieu as a lovestruck plagued by bad luck during a weekend in which he meets the parents (Robert Deniro and Blythe Danner) of his intended. Almost all of the gags work, and the conversations between the uptight and suspicious Deniro and the uncomfortable and thus needy Stiller are well-conceived. I found myself laughing as much at their verbal fencing than at the gags. Grade: B.
