You will all note how rarely I post to this thread, and so have little reason to trust my judgment on films- but as a public service to parents/aunts/uncles/granparents of the world I must share with you something concerning Pokemon, The Movie. Nevermind the warnings that the film is too violent etc. Kids love it, and it is harmless enough regarding the violence in the movie.

The movie itself is the worst thing Japan has done to the US since Pearl Harbor. The animation hardly deserves the term, it is only slightly better than flip books you used to get with cracker jacks. To get a flavor of the film, I suggest you imagine that the makers of Godzilla created an animated remake of Billy Jack, and they stopped the process at the storyboard stage and filmed what they had.

I expected to see Crow, Tom Servo and Joel in the front row of the theatre, or Dan Ackroyd to step in front of the screen as Leonard Plinth Garnell and pronounce the film "exquistely bad." If there were more motion in the film it might actually be enjoyably bad.

If you have a relative that you harbor a grudge against, this is the time to get your revenge and send the clueless clod to this movie with every kid in the family.
