Return

Well I finally saw the Insider last weekend at a dollar movie theater. I had not seen it earlier because I don't care much for Al Pacino and some of the reviews had kind of panned it as too down and factually detailed to sustain an audience.

To the contrary!! I thought it was terrific. And I also thought Al Pacino was perfectly cast. In fact, all the casting was excellent: the doctor's superficial wife who was only married for better but baled when it got bad, the Mississippi attorney general's staff, the guy who played Mike Wallace, the artic CBS attorney... All in all, it was an excellant movie. And not a single cigarette was smoked in the whole thing. Is Hollywood finally catching on that the vast majority of American society does not smoke? Anyhow, I thought it was a great movie, worth every penny of the $1.50 it cost me to see it!

(If I could remember the name of the Australian actor who played the lead, I would mention him too. He gave a fine performance. Very conflicted.)
