Rented _Meet Joe Black_ this weekend.
Is there *any* movie in existence that Pitt
can't ruin?
A flawed movie, IMO, and not just because of
Pitt's performance, which was the SAME DAMN ONE HE GIVES IN EVERY
FILM HE'S IN.
Hopkins was very good, but the premise itself
was weird. While one can understand why Death wants to experience
life, what was the stuff about him not understanding various
rituals, like eating? You'd think that after all the millennia of
taking people while they're consuming a meal he'd know what food
was.
Then there's the whole sex/romance thing. I
didn't find it believable? Were we supposed to assume that *Death
learns A Lesson*?
I think this movie would have been much more
interesting had they explored the darker side of Death's
Vacation, ala Bergman.
