Quick Takes: Out of Sight was very good, largely due to the screen chemistry between the leads, the supporting cast, and Soderbergh's sense of visual rhythm. I can't think of too many movies which flowed that well, moving exactly at the necessary speed and even stopping dead at completely appropriate moments. I really didn't see it as striving for much beyond being a damn good character driven heist movie, but in that it succeeded. One thing I did really like was the overwhelming sense of how dumb these people really were. The scenes where Nancy Allen tells them the safe combination just to stop them from sending more bullets ricocheting around the room, and where White Boy gets distracted in his search for the diamonds by the task of bring a few dozen pounds of choice sirloin out to the car were priceless.
