| I also caught the new Star Trek film over the
weekend. It was basically a slightly above average episode of the
TV show, with more expensive special effects and too many
sub-plots. The last two films at least upped the ante (Kirk meets
Picard, and big fight with the Borg). This one looks, feels and
*is* small. A couple times during the film they mention that the
Federation is losing ground with the Dominion and the
Cardassians. My reaction was "You mean there is something
interesting going on and you are feeding us this boring 'Trail of
Tears' meets 'Fountain of Youth' plot?". |
