Return

I watched The Negotiator on video last night. With Jackson and Spacey in the leads, I expected a highly enjoyable intellectual cat and mouse game. I don't think the writer knew the quality of cast he was going to attract, or they would have given them more opportunities. It was incredibly frustrating to watch the two leads just start to engage in a battle of wits only to be interrupted by SWAT team gun fire, irrational behavior, and hackneyed plot contrivances ( at least they spared us the "wife held hostage" one which I was fully expecting). The film did convince me of one thing. I am going to miss J.T. Walsh. :(
