Return

Watched American Psycho yesterday (i figure what better way to spend a religious holiday than in a dark theater watching a movie about the sickest of the sick and remembering that this, honestly, is still better than being up at the ass crack of dawn in a worship service - but i digress).

I thought Bale did a superb job - and i'm not just saying that because he was absolutely gorgeous. He played his role quite convincingly. So, that's not where my beef is (no pun intended).

The thing i don't get is that i have no friggin’ clue what the hell in this movie was in his head and what was "real". I have to wonder if the book was as confusing. So, either 1 of 2 things happened: 1) the movie had no concept of realism (i.e. running thru an apt complex with a chainsaw and no one noticing) or 2) he killed no one and just thought about it - and i mean a lot.

If case 1 - then it really sucked. If 2 - it still sucked, just not as much.
