Return

went to see Erin Brockovich at the second run theater for $1.50. i got my money's worth.

i can see why people fawn over this flick, it would be easy to do. indeed, i enjoyed it - well, most of it anyway. this is the first Julia Roberts movie i've wanted to see and wasn't then disappointed with since Pelican Brief. Julia was very convincing as the white trash hissy-fit throwing lawyer wanna-be. the problem for me is the character's "flaws" just don't don't make her a believable nor sympatric character to me. she was too perfect; too convincing of the people she had to sign up - just too ... movieish. maybe they didn't have enough time to worry with real flaws or maybe the real Brockovich got script approval, but whatever it was - it was just too tidy.

other than that, it was an enjoyable movie and well worth almost two dollars.
