Return

saw the DVD of Holy Man but i noticed an error. this movie was mistakenly labeled in the 'comedy' category instead of 'hackneyed dramady'.

as unfunny as this movie was (i laughed exactly twice), i didn't hate it. Eddie Murphy was fine as the traditional enlighten minority who tells us silly white folk what's really important in life is green grass and not lawn mowers and DVD players. Jeff Goldblum was good as the clichéd honkey slime-ball who eventually finds his heart of gold with his traditional beautiful blonde babe who (surprise!) finds her heart of gold 20 minutes before Goldblum. and yes, the blonde babe, Kelly Preston, was fine as the ball bustin' corporate exec who eventually understands Murphy's message and buys it hook-line-and-sinker.

but, it just wasn't funny. at all. Goldblum has the comedic timing and presence of a funeral. Murphy is not given a single funny line - one or two humorous bits i can see why the writers thought would be funny but weren't. too much time was spent on his Christ-like Jewish Catholic Hinduism

definitely worth a pass - whatta stinker.

one quack out of five just because i like the actors.
