Anybody for "Romance?" Just saw it and don't know what to make of it. It portrays a young woman's attitude/feelings/private thoughts toward her boyfriend and several other men in her life which include a stud she met when she got out of bed and went to a bar out of frustration with her boyfriend's lack of response to her attempts at oral sex, an s & m freak from the school where she teaches, and a man who offers her $20 to let him give her oral sex, gives her oral sex and then rapes her. All of these scenes are portrayed quite graphically although not quite as graphically as xxx porn movies. However, those who have wondered why female frontal nudity is okay but not male will be happy to know that in "Romance" there is no shortage of penises of all sizes and states of arousal. The guy the main character picks up in a bar is apparently Italy's version of our own late lamented Johnny Wadd Holmes.
If any of you lady motes have seen it, your take on the validity of the portrayal of your gender's viewpoint on men would be of interest. I detected occasional glimmers of truth but found it mostly trite and hokey. But who am I to judge? The title "Romance," was tongue in cheek so to speak. If there was any romance in the movie, I failed to detect it.
