Saw Traffic tonight. It's every bit as good as its reviews. Frightening. We aren't winning the war on drugs. Time to try something else.
The best performance in Traffic may have been by Benicio del Toro who played the cop from Ciudad Juarez. One detail in the movie that struck me as unrealistic was how the wife of the big San Diego drug czar went almost instantly from total ignorance of her hubby's drug business to negotiating a mega deal with the big guy in Mexico and ordering a hit on the witness against her husband.
