 Hi!

I am Hrishi, a graduate student of Electrical  and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA. Currently I am working in San Jose, California for Micron Technology, Inc.

I am originally from a small place called Yavatmal in the state of Maharashtra, India. My mother tongue is Marathi. I did all my schooling in Anglo Hindi High School, Yavatmal. After that I did my 11th and 12th grade in Amolakchand Mahavidyalaya. I did well in my studies till 12th but that was not enough to get me into my dream Engineering College, IIT Bombay. So, I studied for the entrance exam of IIT for a year at Chennai and finally got in IIT Bombay. I joined there as a student of 5yr integrated M.Sc. Chemistry program but changed my major to Engineering Physics after 1 yr. After my B. Tech at IIT Bombay, fortunately, I landed up with Scholarships from ISU, Syracuse and Indiana University. I chose to come in a corny land of Iowa. I joined here as a graduate student of Physics. I however find working on Semiconductors more attractive and got an attractive offer from Dr Dalal and changed my major to Electrical Engineering after a year.

I am a good painter too. I mostly do Traditional Indian designs. Fine Arts have been integral part of my life since my childhood. One of my paintings was even selected for an exhibition in Japan. I won a couple of prices at Inter College Competitions at Sarang, a yearly festival of IIT Madras. I also organized Fine Arts events at Mood Indigo, a yearly festival of IIT Bombay. I was also involved with Fine Arts and Photography related events of my Hostel (H9). And even now I am Vice President of SiTaR (Society of Indian Traditions and Arts), a student organization at Iowa State University.

Besides painting, I like to listen to all kinds of Music except hard rock/metal. I love to listen to music from different cultures. I manage to play Tabla a little bit. I also swim and am proud of swimming a distance of 10kms in 6hrs at IIT Bombay. I am a fitness freak these days. I workout almost every day and also go swimming every now and then.
