The National Institute of Steel Detailing (NISD) is an international
association which advocates, promotes and serves the interests of the steel
detailing industry.
The Object of the Institute shall be to create a better understanding between
the detailer, the fabricator, the architects, the engineers, and the general
public.

The American Institute of Steel Construction, Inc., is a non-profit association
representing and serving the structural steel industry in the U.S. Its purpose
is to expand the use of fabricated structural steel through research and
development, education, technical assistance, standardization and quality
control.
AMERICAN IRON & STEEL INSTITUTE
For over a century, North American steel producers have left their day-to-day
rivalries behind to work as partners and members of the American Iron and Steel
Institute in furthering its mission to promote steel as the material of choice
and to enhance the competitiveness of the North American steel industry and its
member companies.
AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY
Mission is to provide quality products and services to thier members and the
industry, which will advance the science, technology
and applications of materials joining throughout the world.
STEEL JOIST INSTITUTE
Non-Profit organization who sets standards for the steel joist industry and
works closely with major building code bodies throughout the country helping to
develop code regulations regarding steel joists and joist girders.
STEEL DECK INSTITUTE
Since 1939, the Steel Deck Institute has provided uniform industry standards
for the engineering, design, manufacture, and field usage of steel decks. The
SDI is concerned with cold-formed steel products, with various configurations
distinctive to individual manufacturers, used to support finished roofing
materials or to serve as a permanent form and/or positive reinforcement for
concrete floor slabs.
SOCIETY FOR PROTECTIVE COATINGS
SPPC provides information on new and innovative technologies for the protective
coatings industry through its conferences and exhibitions, held throughout the
United States.
SSPC was founded in 1950 as the Steel Structures Painting Council, a non-profit
professional society concerned with the use of coatings to protect industrial
steel structures. SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings serves its members
and advances the industry through standards, regulatory advocacy, education,
and information exchange.
AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING AND MATERIALS
MISSION: To be the foremost developer and provider of voluntary consensus
standards, related technical information, and services having internationally
recognized quality and applicability that
promote public health and safety, and the overall quality of life;
contribute to the reliability of materials, products, systems and services; and
facilitate national, regional, and international commerce.
STEEL ERECTORS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA
The Steel Erectors Association of America is dedicated to advancing the common
interests and needs of all engaged in building with steel. The Association's
objectives in achieving this goal include the promotion of safety, education,
and training programs for steel erector trades, development and promotion of
standards, and cooperation with others in activities which impact the
commercial construction business.

TENSOR ENGINEERING
Tensor Engineering was founded in 1958 by Walter J. Gatti. Since that time, Mr.
Gatti and Tensor Engineering have played an integral part in the construction
of most of the major steel structures built in the United States. Mr. Gatti,
who brings over 46 years of knowledge and experience to his role as company
president, has personally supervised the structural steel fabrication detail
and field erection drawings for over 2,600 bridges.
