· Since October 2000, I’m at Germany, working for a web based

migration project on IBM Webspere from IBM 390 mainframe for

a Automobile Spare parts Manufacturing Company.

    • September 1994 – September 2000 : I was with ABB (Calcutta,)
    • & ALSTOM(Calcutta) as In-charge, Electrical, Instrumentation

Worked as In-charge, Computer, Communication and Instrumentation

division, in the Indian chapter of a Multinational heavy engineering and

electrical Equipment-manufacturing Corporation. Responsibilities were

Administrator – Systems, Data Base & Network, Installation of hardware

& Network setup, User’s training on Application Software, Programming

(1) Application System Design - Boiler parts center project management System using Clients Server Architecture on NT, VB, PB, D2K, Oracle server 7.

(2) Application and systems software development for service, erection, Marketing, communication, spares, human resource management - FoxPro, Visual FoxPro, Access, VB, PB on windows 95/NT.

(3) B2C Internet application web page design and web site hosting.

    • February 1992 – August 1994: I was with National Thermal Power Corp. (NTPC), Kahalgaon STTP.,INDIA as Manager & HOD, Control and Instrumentation Dept.,
    1. Supervised the construction, commissioning, operation & maintenance of
    2. 4 x 210 MW generating units and their commissioning.

    3. Modification of the designs of controlling process and instrumentation
    4. systems and the procurement of equipment during commissioning of the

      thermal power generating units.

    5. Adapted the software systems for Distributed Digital Control, Data

Acquisition and Furnace Safeguard Supervisory Systems.

 

 

 

    • January 1987 – February 1992: I was with National Thermal Power Corp. (NTPC), Balco CPP., INDIA as Superintendent-(O&M-C&I) and Electronic Data Processing.,

(1) Supervised the operation and maintenance of 4 x 67.5 MW generating units.

(2) Implemented, upgraded, designs of controlling processes and instrumentation systems.

(3) Developed and maintained the Payroll on COBOL on VAX, Inventory Control, Maintenance, Planning and Management Information Systems.

(4) Oversaw the construction and commissioning of 4 x 67.5 MW generating units by GEC Alsthom, U.K. and Babcock Power Ltd., U.K.

 

    • July 1982 – January 1987: I was with National Thermal Power Corp. (NTPC), Singrauli and Korba STPP., INDIA as Sr. Engineer-(O&M)- Data Acquisition and Instrumentation.,
  1. Responsible for operation and maintenance of 4 x PDP 11/14 (DEC)
  2. Computer Systems used for Process Control and Data Acquisition of 4 x 210

    MW Generating units.

  3. Developed software for various Control loops, maintenance and performance
  4. Logs.

  5. Responsible for operation and maintenance of 6 x Westinghouse 25000

Computers used for Process Control and Data Acquisition of 6 x 200 MW

generating units.

 

    • October 1979 - July 1982: I was with Steel Authority of India Limited. (SAIL), Bokaro Steel Plant., INDIA as Computer Programmer, EDP Centre.

Major responsibilities were design, develop and implementing software on Burroughs mainframe 6811 computer using COBOL, PL/I based programs

Tailored to specific needs for education and commercial users. Impart users training.

(1) Designed "GEMCANDE" systems software combining "Command and Edit" feature of the CANDE system into the GEMCOS message control system.

(2) Developed the "project planning and control" online data processing System using GEMCOS (Generalized Message Control System) & COBOL.

(3) Developed on-line Payroll & Traffic & Wagon control systems using GEMCOS & COBOL.

(4) Developed on-line Inventory control systems using PL/I & GEMCOS on

Burroughs 6811 mainframe system.

(5) Worked on a project for development of a protocol for interfacing IBM 1800 process control system and Burroughs 6811 systems.

(6) Users training on mainframe, its terminals & application systems operation &

use, high level languages & systems utilities developed on the Burroughs

6811 mainframe computer.
