Veliankode, is famous by the name of Hadrath Ummer Khadhi (RA), an Islamic Scholar, Indian freedom fighter and Sufi. It is situate in the shores of Arabian Sea and 5Km away from Ponnani City. The southern side of Veliankode is Palappetty and Maranchery on the east. Canoli Canal (by a British named Canoli) is going through Veliankode. The main source of income in this area are Coconuts, Cashew nuts, Rice and Fisheries. The only Secondary (High) School is Govt. High School, situated in the eastern side, named Gramam. |
