Toshiba Recovery CD Tricks

Before we do so, let's take a look how Toshiba do the Tricks on the CD. Under "cabs" directory, you will find Windows 98 install files, but there are 6 missing files!!! Those missing files are ZIPPED under "tosetup.zip" in root directory; and the "tosetup.zip" is password protected. We don't know the password! all we have to do is find a way to extract the "tosetup.zip" and combine the "cabs" directory onto HD for installation of Windows 98.

*ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE DELETE BY FDISK*

First, boot from Toshiba Floppy, exit the Toshiba utilities, use FDISK to partition the HD as you want, and leave free space for Linux.
Second, boot from Toshiba Floppy, exit the Toshiba utilities, use FORMAT to format the FAT/FAT32 Partition for Windows 98.
Third, reboot again, this time we use the Toshiba utilities to install the CD-ROM Drivers and Toshiba Utilities into HD.
Fourth, reboot again, exit the Toshiba utilities, and type:

c:
md temp
d:
set path=d:\bin
cd\cabs
d:\bin\tunzip -o d:\tosetup.zip -d c:\temp
'it should extract 6 files into c:\temp

Last, copy the "cabs" directory on to HD, and combine the "c:\temp" 6 files, there will be a complete set of Windows 98 installation set.

good luck.
