The internet provides a means to make new and accurate information available for public access. That is not to say that good IPv6 documentation is not available in a published format. In fact, many valuable books have been written to introduce the ideas behind IPv6. IPv6 is being tested and it will continue to evolve. The best place to find the latest information is on the internet.
The Linux effort is just as dynamic as the current IPv6 effort. IPv6 is only supported in newer Linux development kernels 2.1.X. The development kernels are not stable. Compiling a development kernel and the necessary IPv6 applications can be complex if not impossible at times. A good basic understanding of Linux is essential before attempting to compile any of these programs. The internet sources provided listed below are invaluable resources to achieve an understanding of working with IPv6 and Linux.
Linux developers are actively involved in improving IPv6 support in the latest development kernels. The next stable kernel release will include full IPv6 functionality. Various internet sites exist to introduce both novice and expert Linux users to IPv6.
The Linux Developers maintain an open email forum to discuss issues dealing with the newest development kernels. The forum is called the NetDev List, it is an invaluable source of information. The NetDev list is read by many Linux experts that can assist other users in implementing IPv6 on their Linux platform.

Ipv6 is currently being tested on the world wide test bed called the 6Bone. As functions are tested and improved, documentation is written to describe the advancements. Internet Drafts and RFC’s provide the best source of information for new IPv6 mechanisms and suggestions.
There are several good internet sources for IPv6 information. These are a good place to start.
