Hey, buddy...wanna buy a squirrel?

Various pictures

You're the person to see these pictures since December 31, 1999!

All right, hey, welcome to my scrapbook! Soon I will have up a whole lot of pictures from the 1999 FFA Finals in Kentucky, and from our trip to Washington, D.C. While in Louisville, Kentucky, our California FFA Forestry Team competed against 39 other teams. We managed to be in the silver division, snagging 20th place out of 40 teams. Hey, that's pretty good, considering neither the team nor our coach had ever competed at Nationals on any team before! Featured in these pictures are me (John), Mike, Melvin, Dario, and our coach, Mr. King. Most of these pictures are mine, but some of them are Mr. King's, so credit goes to him.

You will know the page is fully loaded when about 20 pictures appear onscreen.

I've split the pictures up onto three different pages, and I hope this will make them load faster. Be sure to let them load completely or you might miss out on a cool pic or the links on the bottom! Simply click on a page number to go there.

(From left to right) Melvin, Mike, and me pose for da camera.

Probably the best picture of Arlington National Cemetary I took.

Wow, it looks like Dario has been workin' his right arm a lot lately. Look how buff it is!

While sporting a corny grin for the camera, a giant hand grabs my head.

After kidnapping a few of the other Forestry teams, we hid them in this forest until after the contest.

A huge group picture, taken at home just before the trip. Gathered here is the forestry team and some of our friends and family. I'm the dude in the back with the sunglasses who dwarfs everybody.

Okay, even though we didn't win the contest, we got treated like true champions! This is Melvin, Mike, Dario, me, and Mr. King.

Unfortunately, Mike failed to see the car speeding towards the camera as this picture was taken.

Mike survives the incident as I quickly jump out of the car and pose for a picture.

Here we are...the Forest Mafia. Me, Dario, Melvin, and Mike.

A huge group picture of everyone from California who went on the Washington, D.C. trip posing on the Capitol Building steps.

AAAAAIIIIEEEEEEEE!!! Fortunately, we were all able to avoid impact with this Kamikaze helicopter.

Well, here's the Washington Monument. During our whole visit (and probably until summer of 2000) they had a big frame around it, 'cuz they're repainting it. Looked white enough to me to begin with.

George Washington's old house at Mt. Vernon. No matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find that dang cherry tree.

Here's Melvin, me, Mike, and Dario at the Patton museum. General Patton insisted on being in the picture, so we let him stand behind us.

A postcard-quality picture of the Patton Museum near Fort Knox I took. Too bad someone scribbled "potheads rule" on the back of it, so I couldn't mail it home.

Mr. King, Me, Dario, Melvin, and Mike mug for the camera at the Patton Museum again. That place was cool.

One of my favorite pictures, here's all of the Hanford FFA people who took an early ride to the convention. This is us at San Francisco the day before we left: Mr. King, Melvin, Mike, Jordan, Dario, Jessica, and me.

What the heck is this? The Ohio River? Whatever it is, it looks really cool.

With the guards asleep, I cross into enemy territory...and smile.

"Hey, whatsa matta?! Can't I eat my nuts in peace?!?"

Here's my senior pic...hey, where's my goatee?! Hehe
