GLASS and BLADE PRO
Looks great on Text too!

This was my beginning image (BASE IMAGE).  It measured 200 X 200 X
16.7 million colors.  I used the circle selection tool to create a circle in the
center and flood filled it solid color of white.  You can use the oval selection
tool if you would like, but I find that the circle selection tool is much easier
to get perfect shapes.
I then added text to the center of the circle, you do not need to, I only did this
so you could see how a glass effect would react on this image in case you
would like to use text or an image as your base image.  Now, using your magic
wand, select the area outside of the circle.  Hit Selections --> Invert selection.
Now, the circle and text are selected.
Open Blade Pro.  See the images below, set your settings to reflect the settings in the images
below. You can change a couple of things for different effects, as you can see at the bottom
of this page.
Once I have done the above, my image looks like this one here.
I know, not too glassy, but the more glass effect you
use, the darker your image becomes.  I also used a drop
shadow effect on this image.  I used the settings of Black,
Optacity = 25%, Blur of 10, and both vertical and horizontal
settings were set at 7.  This gave the ball the appearance of
hovering over the image and creating a small shadow.
As you can see here, I changed my background to white,
and the image would be ready to display. Any number
of changes can be applied here, but this was just a basic
tutorial.  The images below show more techniques on this.
They may be hard to read, so you might want to open up
PSP, position your cursor ove the image, right click the
mouse, and choose copy.  Goto PSP, and hit Edit --> Paste,
or control + V.  Once you do this, hit Image --> Resize.
Double the images sizes. HINT:  If you set your resize menu
to: Resize Type "Smart Size"; Resize All Layers on; and
Maintain aspect ratio of 1, you will only have to enter the first
number to resize to. So, if the image is 200 pixels wide and
720 pixels in height, putting 400 in the 200 position of width
will resize the height of the image to 1440 pixels high.

Shown here using different textures and colors, your glass balls, globes, what have you,
take on a totally new effect now.
