The DOS section
This page so far comprises the following software:
- The apartment management program
APPARTEM,
which does the complete management of rental apartments, from keeping
an address database of the clients, printing reservations and bills to
computing the annual final account statement.
APPARTEM is available in German, English and French.
- The vocabulary trainer
TRAINING,
an extremely flexible and powerful but at the same time easy to use
vocabulary trainer.
- The
XMS-unit,
a Borland Turbo Pascal unit source code that enables you to use XMS memory
in your own Pascal programs.
All programs in this section are available as ZIP archives and as ARJ archives.
Note 1:For some strange reason, GeoCities does not allow filenames to
end with ".arj", therefore I had to rename all the ARJ archives before I could
upload them to this page. Instead of ".arj" they now end ".bin" - i.e. are
some not specified binary files. Just rename them back from ".bin"
to ".arj" after you downloaded them - ren bla.bin bla.arj -
and then proceed as described in the corresponding section.
Note 2:If you do not have "arj.exe", you can download it from
here.
With "arj.exe" it is the same thing again, though: ".exe" is not accepted as
an extension, either, so rename "arj.bin" to "arj.exe" before executing
it.
Note 3:Some browsers may not correctly download the archives
(and "arj.exe") when just clicking the link with your left mouse button,
but instead only display some jumbled garbage. In those cases, use your
right mouse button to download the file.
is a flexible all-round apartement management program, available
in German, English and French.
NEW:The new version 5.01 fully supports all three phases of the
Euro currency conversion. Further down this page you will also find the
program APP_HWU which will switch APPARTEM from the local currency (DEM
or FFR) to Euro, as will be neccessary in January 2002.
The apartement management program is SHAREWARE, not FreeWare like all the others on this site !

once you have read the detailed instructions and found, that your computer
fulfills the hard- and software requirements for APPARTEM.
APP_HWU (available in German only, if you need a translation
please do not hesitate to contact me)
is a support-tool for APPARTEM. If you use APPARTEM in a country that
takes part in the Euro, you will need to switch APPARTEM to Euro-currency
sometime during early January 2002. This is what APP_HWU does for you.

APP_HWU.EXE. (Note 2, see above, applies here,
too: The APP_HWU at geocities is named app_hwu.bin, so after
downloading, you have to rename app_hwu.bin to app_hwu.exe before you
can execute it.
is a flexible and powerful vocabulary trainer, which is nonetheless very
easy to use.
Please note: Until recently, the version of TRAINING that was online
here had been compiled with the uncorrected CRT-Unit of Turbo Pascal,
causing it to abort on Computers with more than approximately 200MHz.
This has been corrected, now.
So far, TRAINING is available only in German. Since it has rather little
text, you should be able to use it, even if you do not understand German,
though. If you do so & like it, let me know, I can easily make it available
in English and/or French, too, if so desired.
The only "installation" that is required is to create a directory for
TRAINING, copy the downloaded archive into it and unpack it. Thus there
are no further detailed installation instructions for this program.

For the more daring users among you: The newest version, only alpha-tested
so far: TRAINING v. 3.3 beta (The manual has
not been updated yet, so please use the manual for version 3.2 and refer to
the online-help (F1) for the changes.)
XMS, version 1.0
