Climate : Generally hot and humid in lowlands with an average temperature of 27°C, while it is cooler in the central hills having a temperature of 20°C average. The southwest monsoon from May to November brings heavy rain to the western, southern and central regions, while the northeastern monsoon occurs in the north and east in December and January. The southwestern wet zone has some rainfall throughout the year, which peaks in May and June as well as in October and November.
