Adding objects

Go to the Objects command window.

Here you can see the objects tree that contains all the objects present in the scene.
There is always at least one object present (even when the scene is empty), it is a group object named "__ROOT__". This object contains all the other objects.

You can add other group objects that will contain different part of the scene. The group objects permit you to manipulate many different objects as they were a single complex object. Changing position, rotation, scale, material color, texture or clip plane to a group object apply the change to all the objects contained in the group, unless a contained object overrides a particular setting.

What you see in the picture is what you get after pressing the Add cube button.

Other elements you can add are Sphere, Cylinder, Disk and Quads.

The erase button eliminates from the scene the object selected in the objects tree.
Erasing the __ROOT__ object does not remove it from the list, but eliminates all other objects.

You can use drag and drop on the objects tree to change the order in which objects are drawn or to move an object into a group or out of it.
Pressing the mouse button 2 on the objects tree opens a Popup menu that lets you clear, copy the selected object or paste a previously copied one. This function does not use the system clipboard, objects are copied to an internal program variable, but you can use it to copy an object (also a group) from a scene file to another as long as you do not exit the current program instance.

Just adding an element to the scene gives default values to all its parameters, so the effect is not so exciting.
Next page will show you how to modify position, rotation and scale factor of an object.
