FTaskman

use a great task manager

FTaskman, 49Kb

FTaskman is a great tool for switching between and managing the arrangement of the various things you have running at a time. Windows comes with a task manager (access it by double clicking on the desktop or by pressing ctrl-esc), but it is rather limited. FTaskman replaces it with something better. Both task managers can arrange your windows, allow you to switch to any window, end programs that have stopped responding, and neatly arrange icons on the desktop. But FTaskman does all this better, plus:

You can arrange window horizontally or vertically as well as cascading them

you can minimize all other windows when you switch to one

you can hide or unhide any program (very useful for accessing those handy little utilities you keep running invisibly in the background)

FTaskman shows icons in the task list next to name of the program, making it much easier to recognize the program you want to switch to.

you can start programs

you can exit windows, restart windows, and even reboot your computer

Now all these options could make the thing unwieldy, but FTaskman is so well designed that it isn't. And to top it off, there's an easy to use options menu to set up FTaskman with your preferences. An excellent program.

FTaskman Tip:
A neat way to access your task manager is to install MouseKey and set it to open the task manager when you right click on any title bar.
