So, I'm a slack bastard! I'm just too busy at the moment to transfer all that wonderful Canadian experience from paper to bytes. Only just last night did I finally get the chance to sit down and start putting my photos into the album. Even then I only got half way through that.

Not much has happened yet.. Perhaps travel insurance will be the thing to get this week. I shouldnt be this excited.. its still a while away.

Perhaps I should drown myself in Quake3Arena:Test. Thats all for now until I feel inspired to write some more.

Reubs - 12/05/1999

Howdy there.

As you or may not have read in some of my other pages, I'm taking a trip to Canada soonish.. In fact, real soon. I fly out of Brisbane on 30 May 1999 and am OS for 9 weeks. Anyway, this page, and pages hanging off it will eventually contain all my journal entries that will be making whilst I'm over there.

Yep, I'm definitely taking a journal and I plan to make an entry everynight, before I go to sleep, or at least first thing the following morning. This is my first big trip to the northern hemisphere. I did a three week trip to New Zealand at the start of third year uni., but since I was born in NZ, I dont think that counts. Anyway, I dont really want to forget the details of this trip 10 years down the track, so I'm taken photoes and writing journals. I made a duty free purchase of a Canon EOS 500. A nice little SLR jobby. I just have to pick up some batteries for it and I think I'll get one of those lens caps that dont fall off.

I booked in my first week of accomodation last week. One week in Vancouver - Downtown. I did it over the web, which is pretty cool. In fact, I try to do most things over the web first, rather that walk into some store and start asking a sales guy questions. I dont have much in the way of plans after that.. perhaps I might visit Whistler for a couple of days, and perhaps finding a rafting trip somewhere.

The general plan is to start in Vancouver, head over to Montreal and Quebec City, and then fly back to Vancouver by the end of July. Every thing else in between is a mystery. I've heard there is a jazz festival in Montreal in the first week of July, so I guess I might want to be there for that, but every thing else is up for grabs. If you have any suggestions, before I leave email me with them.

All I need to do now is get some warm clothing and some currency. I think I might wait on the warm clothing until I get over there. I cant really tell in Brisbane just how warm those clothes are going to need to get.

Anyway, watch this space for more updates as the time draws closer. And perhaps a few updates whilst I'm over there.
