Willy-nilly this never ends!

No prior experience but produced stuff  below within hours of downloading Paint Shop Pro 4.14 from Jasc Software.

Inspiration was primarily ten step-by-step tutorials free from a master of PSP. Lots of other free tutorials are available from Jasc's Designer Studio Resources.
Click here for free Delevan's Cheap Tricks. Delevan's page will open in a new browser window, as will Chuck's and GrafoManiac's below, when clicked.
Forty or more free, first-class, more-advanced step-by-step tutorials on Text Effects are available from a young Aussie,
Chuck Dale. Chuck's pages are tops in website layout and coverage of a technical subject. If you need more than this, try > chapter5 <.

PSP is shareware = 30-day evaluation period. Jasc Software Inc. released PSP 5 in April 1998: a pricier and much more versatile bitmap image creation and editing tool than its predecessor. From a non-graphics background PSP 4.14 to PSP 5 is a straightforward step, but starting out with PSP 5 from ground zero may be a little like diving into the deep end of the pool without knowing how to swim. Now, if PSP 5 doesn't satisfy you, be prepared to spend several hundreds of dollars to purchase Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 and a lot of commercial plug-in filters like Alien Skin's Eye Candy, KPT 3.0 and so forth.

A final hint if decide to buy PSP. You can find PSP versions at much lower prices elsewhere on the Web than buying direct from Jasc. But there's a caveat. Jasc has supplied free upgrades to new versions, each time mailing the User's Guides (that's 462 pages for PSP 5) and CD-ROM at no charge. I very much doubt you will see any User's Guide, any free upgrade, or similar quality of dedicated support from a software discounter.

Needless to say, I'm hooked by this novelty -- hammering away relentlessly like a Websmith, because good is never good enough. Here's an example , then continue on down.

So enjoy!

N.B. Honestly: this started out as mere worksheet & scribble pad to test accents, HTML,

plus new W3C working draft features like bold-faced, sideways Hello there "label" greeting Internet Explorer 4.0 viewers.

Top-of-page player in left corner plays soothing background music for a little under three minutes.

NOTE: Folks, don't think Netscape Navigator 4.0x browser will show the
Hello there greeting embedded sideways in wood grain below audio player opposite the Greek column, flush right of the musical note symbol, once this page opens.

Sorry, but you should hear music once you click Play (= first player button - second button is Stop, resets playback slider to start play position - first button becomes Pause button once playback starts - press Pause to restart playback).

Anyway, ISO-Latin-1 character set supplies all code you'll need for accents:

 ˆ (circumflex) as in flâner
 ` (grave) as in voilà
 ¨ (umlaut) as in Höllerhof
˜ (tilde) as in pão or pães,
   etc.

Then I paused for the State of the Union address. I'm a true fan of Bill Clinton's (and of R.R.'s) and of the great U.S. of A., period -- but just couldn't resist letting thoughts wander. Indeed, was so inspired by the salacious allegations swirling around 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. thought of doing table I was working on over as Ms. M's Coast-to-Coast Service Manual .
Shucks, settled just paste that little red insert
