Welcome! Pour yourself a cup of sparkling water, klah, tea or coffee and let's get acquainted.

Feel free to browse my bookshelf, my video rack, or my Music collection . Or you can meet some of my friends: Blake T. Miller, David Cobb (aka TiggrBear), Cameron Robb, Sean Scott, Jay Canfield and Mick Porter.

First, here's a chance to see me with Tiggrou (35K JPG) at Disneyland Paris (July96) or at the Sydney Opera House (18K JPG) in Australia (June94).

Bookcase

It's my personal belief that you can tell a lot about a person by perusing their bookshelves. So, here you go, a tour of my bookcase:

You can jump if you want to: cartoons, science fiction, mysteries, cooking, or games.

Cartoons and Fun Stuff

The first shelf you see has TIGGER bouncing all over the place, as well as my Garfield (the cat) collections, along with the New Zealander " Footrot Flats" (a "down under" Garfield). Beside these you'll see collections of Gahan Wilson (have you seen his (7/95) Haunted House game from Microsoft?) and Ron Cobb (anyone remember him from the LA Free Press in the 60's?) and my growing Dr. Seuss collection. You'll also find the Animaniacs bouncing around the shelf, together with Pinky and the Brain plotting world domination. For serious comic book adventures, no one can ever top Jack (the King) Kirby!

Science Fiction (Books and TV)

My science fiction shelf is extensive. I have the Lensman and Skylark collections from E. E. "Doc" Smith, digests of (the original) Outer Limits, Anne McAffrey's Dragonriders of Pern and other stories, and still others.

Exciting news! Just found an anthology of Zenna Henderson's stories (including a couple that hadn't been previously republished) named Ingathering! If you've never read about the People, you have denied yourself a real treat!

Of course, I've been a Star Trek fan since the first night! My favorite classic Trek episode is Assignment: Earth with Robert Lansing as Gary Seven and Terry Garr as Roberta Lincoln. For Next Generation I'd have to say Yesterday's Enterprise, with Menage' a Troi a very close second. [01JAN98] If you read Trek novels, don't miss Assignment: Eternity  (the return of Gary Seven - GOOD READ!)

Babylon 5 is my favorite science fiction weekly!  It moved to TNT in January.

ST:Voyager is an experience.  While I'm not convinced it's really Gene Roddenberry's work, I am enjoying Earth: Final Conflict.

Mysteries and Adventure

More than the usual slash and splatter mysteries, I enjoy Judge Dee (by van Gulick) based in 70 A.D. China, Napoleon Bonaparte (by Upfield) who reads " the book of the bush" (outback Australia).

My adventure authors include Robert Ludlam and Jon Land.

Cooking

This is more of a "some day" shelf. I used to cook, and I will again - so I am collecting cookbooks. I have a collection of Frugal Gourmet (Jeff Smith) books -- one is even autographed! A fun link is to the electronic Gourmet Guide.

Video Rack

Another example of my varied tastes:

My ALL TIME FAVORITE movie: Day the Earth Stood Still , is followed by: DUNE, Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Forbidden Planet.

More science fiction series:

The video rack includes an eclectic collection of Laser Discs, too: ABBA in concerts, all the Star Trek motion pictures currently availble, fun musicals: Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Pirates of Penzance; and more.

Music

Another collection that defies definition. My faves in music include ABBA, the Moody Blues , the We Five (anyone have any information on them?) and many of the hits found in Fred Bronson's Billboard Book of Number One Hits.

Not to be overlooked is my all-time favorite musical .... CHESS!   I've seen it in London, New York, Sydney (Australia) and Long Beach.  A website with more information can be found on CHESS: the website.

Finally, I'm a KUSC subscriber who enjoys: Pipe Dreams, Music from the Hearts of Space and The Thistle and Shamrock.  Look to Riverdance for terriffic Celtic music.

Play

In the back of the bottom shelf, you'll find my PC games boxes. Now, I was a very reluctant convert to PC games -- and I'm still pretty picky. The only games I'll admit to are Myst and its sequel: Riven) , Seventh Guest and 11th Hour, and Guardians of Destiny: Lands of Lore II.
