Welcome to Ladycompugeek's Domain

Hi, and welcome to the page. Here is a picture of me from high school:

What do you think?

I guess that photo looks okay. I scanned it right out of my high school yearbook.

Well, you can check out the More About Me, My Family, And My Friends Page to learn more about me and my family stuff. Also, here is a page of my Interests. You can also read my Blog.

Anyway, on to me, my life, and why I have a webpage. My name is Wendy Donnell, but it used to be Wendy Thomas (no relation to Dave Thomas of Wendy's). My self-given nickname is Ladycompugeek, and it fits me well. I love computers and know a lot about them. I used to work at Turn Key Solutions in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a Computer Network Technician. I just finished working at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington as a User Services Technician. Now I work at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. I help the Staff, Faculty, and Graduate Students with their computer problems and really enjoy my job!

I Love Computers!!!

One of my favorite pasttimes is to go hang out with my friends at a SpokLAN LAN Party. I typically do this once a month and we all play videogames on a network of about 60 players for 24 hours over a weekend. (I'll admit I'm a bit of a wimp and usually leave around midnight to catch some sleep but I always have a great time.)

I have a lot of photos I have taken while I lived in Germany in 2003-2004 and in my current regular life here in Washington State at http://photos.yahoo.com/ladycompugeek , feel free to check them out!

Check out Wendy's Picture Page.

Wendy Tuting Her Own Horn. . . . Northside High School 1993

One of my hobbies is playing the Tuba. (As a matter of fact, I hope to buy a Concert Tuba or a Sousaphone-a Sousaphone is the marching version of a Tuba) I have been playing Tuba for almost 9 years now. Ever since the 8th grade. (I have my favorite band director, Dr. Theis, to thank for that. He used to teach at Kaiserslautern American Middle School, Kaiserslautern, Germany. Currently, Dr. Theis is the Assistant Principle of General H. H. Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany. However, My very first band director, Mr. John W. Brooks is also to blame, he used to direct at Plattsmouth Middle School, Plattsmouth, Nebraska, but is now the proprietor of a sign-making company called FastSigns in Lincoln, Nebraska)

In 1999 at Mardi Gras I played in a "mostly" women's brass band called Mo' LASSES. They are based in New Orleans, Louisiana and among other things, they march in Mardi Gras Parades. That year we marched in Krewe Du Vieux, Orpheus, Ulysses, and Rex.

When I can, I travel to my Alma Mater, Northwestern State University of Louisiana to play in The "Spirit of Northwestern" Alumni Band.

(Here We Are At Northwestern State University Alumni Band 2000 -- Hint, Hint, I'm the Second Tuba Player From The Front. . )

So, my life revolves around mostly computers and music. My other hobby is being a member of The Realms of Avalon, or RoA for short. In the RoA we reenact the most Excellent parts of the Middle Ages. (Sword/Fencing/Archery Tournaments, Feasts, Costuming, Music, Heraldry, Arts and Science, Great Cooking, and Men who still practice the Age Old Art of Chivalry! -- there are so many facets to the RoA that I would have a hard time listing all of them here. . .) Currently I play in the Realm of Caerleon, Barony of Thatuna. (This includes Moscow, Idaho and Pullman, Washington and surrounding areas.)

I started doing Medieval Reenactment in the Society for Creative Anachronism, or SCA back in 2002. When I lived in Germany I was in the Shire of Turmstadt in the Kingdom of Drachenwald.

When I lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I was a member of Star One Delta, a Science Fiction Club that has been going on in the Baton Rouge area since 1986. I have previously been the Secretary and Newsletter Editor of Star One Delta.
