Up DemoMaster My Resume My Scientific work Photo Album

If you develop interactive tutorials or software samplers, you often need to capture screen or program window. Although there are many tools for automatically creating video-sequence, many people prefer use Macromedia Director TM, because this tool allows you to create flexible, interactive and profession-looking tutorials. For avoiding some boring work, I've developed my own screen capture tool that called DemoMaster.

DemoMaster is not only screen capture. It can record into bmp-file not whole screen or active window, but the difference between present image and previous one. It allows ones to create smaller applications and save Director memory. Also DemoMaster records cursor position into special text file. Then the special Lingo script acquires data from this file and place all pictures and cursor sprite in its appropriate places. So DemoMaster consist of two parts: executable file with DLL and   blank Director movie that contain some needed scripts and sprites.

You can get DemoMaster Free Edition here. Just unpack this zip-archive into any appropriate directory and take a look on Readme.txt file.

You can use this software for whatever you want. You don't have to pay me, but I just do ask for an acknowledgement somewhere in your documentation that you've used DemoMaster created by Anton Edachov.

If you find any bugs in that program, or you have any advice to improve it, please, send me e-mail.

Also I have been working on Professional Edition of this program. There will be some significant improvement in that version.  For instance, there will be special sprite Xtra to perform LZ-77 compression of captured images and automatically decrease the number of colors in it to create smaller application. But I need a sponsor to complete this work.
