What is Multimedia Manager?
Multimedia Manager builds a indexed database (*.IDX) that
contains informations about Multimedia Files, small
preview icons named Multimedia Icons and comments.

Requirements
You can run Multimedia Manager on any Windows 95,
98 and NT 3.51+ machine.
A Pentium Processor and 16 Mb of Ram are strongly
recommanded.

Tool Windows
The Image Window contains a scalable full size Preview of
current selected Multimedia Icon Picture. The Bitmaps,
JPEG's, GIF's and other Static Graphics formats will be
displayed here.
The Media Player Form contains a scalable full size
preview of current selected Multimedia Icona
Animation/Movie. Here can be viewed AVI's and Video
MPEG's.
The Clock Window contains custom sizeable clock (Just for
fun!)

Sample Sessions
Creating Multimedia Databases
If you want to create Multimedia Databases Files you must
select New Item in File Menu or Click the New Button.
A Search window will be opened. Each new created window
has a default name [NONAMEXX.IDX].
In this window you can:
- Scan recursively for Multimedia Files to an specified
path
- Preview/View Multimedia Files
- Comment and change names of Multimedia Icons
- Sort and Manage Multimedia Icons
- Manage Multimedia Indexed Databases (IDX)
Session Steps:
1. Select Open Item in Files menu or click Open button
2. Give a FileName for New Created Multimedia Database or
select an
existing one
3. Select the folder that will be searched
4. Click Search Button to build Database and Multimedia
Icons
5. Change Aliases of Multimedia Icons clicking on Aliases
Colum When the
Item is selected (Blue)
6. Navigate trough IconView clicking on Scroll Bar or on
that Green Bar
7. Select another the folder that will be searched
8. Click Merge to add new Icons
9. Repeat from Step 7 if you want
10. Save current Database.
Opening Multimedia
Databases
Multimedia Databases are stored to disk under IDX
extension. The Multimedia Databases
contain next stuffs:
- A list of informations about Multimedia files
- A list of scanned folders
- A list of small Icons that represents Mutimedia Files
- A list of links to Multimedia Files
To open an existing Multimedia Database just Select Open
Item in Files menu or click Open button. Select an
existing IDX file and click OK.
The Multimedia Database will be opened in a new Search
Window.

Saving Multimedia Databases
If you want to save a Multimedia Database just Click Save
button in Search Window.
The Multimedia Database will be saved under default name.
Adding new Items to an
existing Multimedia Databases
Open a Multimedia Database. Select New searching folder.
Click Merge Button.
Save new Multimedia Database.

Troubles
The multimedia Manager uses Memory buffers when builds an
index. So I recommand to not more than 1000 Icons in one
Database. If the number of icons reach about 1000 click
Stop button, save current icons and create a new
database.
