Welcome to the homepage of the Bangkok Patana School's Economics department.  

Target Audience - The site is designed for anyone who would like to find out more about the Economics department, its progress policies and activities.  Furthermore it is specifically designed to help IB Economics students in their endless search for economics articles to use for their IB coursework.

The Guest Book - Take the time to read and sign the guest book.  It makes for some interesting reading and pointers to other useful economics web sites.  I take no responsibility for the butchering of the English language that goes on there, I can assure you that students desire to write "what's up man?" doesn't come from Economics lessons at Patana school.  All that moaning about being forced to sign the book is just lies.   

Updates - The site gets regular updates as both I and students find useful pages that we're not afraid to share for the good of all.  So Don't be shy to BOOKMARK this page, link to it and tell the masses.  If you find a good economics page that you think should be included on the site, let me know - Recommend a site 

A Word About Navigation - The site is split into two sections: other pages on this site and links to other useful sites. Just click on the links in blue down the side of this page.  

Specially Recommended Sites - Some of the sites here are more use than others.  To save you some time I have highlighted these for you.

1. The BIZED site - Worth an extra special mention  - this is the BIZED website.  This site, designed specifically for Economics and Business Studies students,  is a must:  There are virtual models of an economy, an IB page and tons and tons of data sites.  If you are an IB student, to go through a two year course and not visit this site is madness - Take a look.

2. The Electronic Library - If it is news articles you are after, this if for you.  You may need to subscribe or you can use the school's subscription.  Either come and see me or e-mail me for details.

Recent Editions to the Site

Economics Today Recommended Internet Sites - Economics Today is a UK publication mainly for British A level Economics students.  Each issue contains a recommended web site and here they are.

1999 Examination results - These are now online and the graphs should download quicker.

The Electronic Library - Most probably the best site ever for news articles - IB students take note.

Future Plans

Like most things this site is in a constant state of change and it is updated and hopefully improved regularly.  Some of the things that I would like to see happen are:

1. students pages - come on someone, volunteer. 

2. full syllabuses on line

3. A discussion list for all Economics students here at Patana - a way to send out homework easily (and get it back).

4. Sponsorship - see below
