People who I have known at various stages of life.

My student years

During my years at Coventry University, I met a few strange people, had a lot of baths, and got the lowest possible grade of degree (above a fail). Here are a few snippets, in no particular order.

Dave Hodder, or Lorian as he sometimes likes to be known, was one of the weirdest.

We met as I was shouting about various societies, and he decided to join up. He has an uncanny ability to avoid people buying him pints, even when he really wants a free pint. Usually, "It's all Mark's fault.

Speaking of Mark, Mark the Banana of Mania as he likes to be called, arrived in the same flying saucer as Dave.

Hailing from an island, not a million miles away from where I was born, he has since grown to become loved my many, but especially Ellen, his fiancee. One of his many accolades was to be elected CovUni man of the year 1995.

Ellen the Hailstone, smiles a lot and has probably seen every single children's television program produced since her birth.

Also known as, Ellichops, Liquidator, Milkshake and Rain.

Oh yes, and as Ellen.

Her call, "You've just been mailed by Ellichops!" can still be heard all around Coventry's computer rooms.

Matt Lawson lives with Dave, who we saw earlier. He is very much into the works of Tolkein, and is often seen at Forbidden Planet, buying out their entire stock.

He owes me 3 pounds 50, but I'm not bothered about this. I offered him a free pint, but he failed to turn up, complaining of over sleeping.

Iain lives with Dave and Matt. One of many goths of this land.

He is a bit of a recluse, and I never really got to know him, dispite this, I offered him a free pint, but he completely forgot about it.

I think that Scratch lives with Dave, Matt and Iain, but I'm not sure.
Andrew Williams has no desire to be known by silly names. One day, he hopes, he will be prime minister of Britain.
Stephen Sangar used to have a web page, with a big photo of him on it. Sadly, this is now missing. His old address is now occupied, let us see what Fisher Stirret has to say for himself.
Neil Massey aka Mas, Shadow Dweller, Shadow Wellie, the pope (nude) and various unmentionable names.

Famous for wearing a coat, rather oddly enough. I had offered to buy his a pint, but his email address had stopped working.

Often seen muttering gibberish to himself. Don't worry about that, apart from losing his grasp on reality day be day, he's a nice enough chap.

Once voted person most likely to know what the Romans have ever done for us.

[This is not a picture of Liz] Liz Loree isn't really a student of Coventry University, but then neither is Stephen (any more, that is), although she did come to visit Coventry University while she was student. So I suppose that counts.

Hails from Canada, a nice place by all accounts. Describes her self as "Very Canadian", and votes for the Rhino party.

A member of the Wicca faith, and as such does not eat Beef (and a few other things I can't remember.) Rhiannon is her craft name.

Adam Sheik is a bit (!) of a night owl. He has probably very record by the Cure ever released, and is also into dragons and the fantasy genre.

Knows everything there is to know about Computer Graphics, and was once a member of a goth band called "Alright for toast". They released a single called "Biscuit City" a while ago. (At least that's what he told me)

Dr. Zippy was a fellow Anybody, like me, a friend of Mark and Ellen, like me, and was born in Rainham, Kent, like me.

Despite this, we are very different people indeed.

I was hoping to do that big pic of me, Stephen, Dave, Neil and Liz here, but I can't find it. Any ideas?

The S.T.N.C. years^H^H^H^H^H months.

A piccy of a rather nice house set in farm land.

A company based in Nowheres-ville, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Famous for being the place where St Edmunds is buried. (The town, not the office)

Mike Bell was the old codger of STNC. He had a rather unhealthy interest in coffee, often drinking a mug of coffee with four spoonfuls of coffee powder. His contribution to the quotes file was mainly complaining about a certain operating system.

Mike left a month before I did. Yet still heard around the land that is Bury St Edmunds, his call, "Shhorrt it out!".

If you were to search Alta Vista for his name, you would be out of luck, (unless it picks up this page). The observant of you will notice that his name is not mentioned on his page, perfering anonymity.

Andrew Langstaff is a clever chap, but had far too much hair and an unhealthy appitite for chicken. Seen every night down at the Crown and Castle, drinking Wexfords and eating something chicken based.

As far as I know he is still there, having been saddled with working on a project using a certain operating system. He complains about it at length.

He actually does have a web page, but I cannot find any reference to it. It was a "museum" of the old Sinclair computers. If you find it, please tell me about it.

Knows almost everything there is to know about C.

While I was there, I also came across Zhou Qi, David Parker, Pali Surdhar, Adrian McEwen, Dominic McCarthy and Neil Brewitt.

Oh yes, and my former boss(s). Ran Mokady and Amy Mokady, who as you have guessed are related, but as you may not have so easily guessed, are related by marriage.
Apparently, they are close friends of David Braben (Who he?)

The FTP months

Coming soon.

And finally...

Since everyone else got a link of some description or another. Only fair...
