The details in this pic are a little hard to see, but this is the pond on the boundries of the property. On the pond there is a family of Mallard ducks with the first ducklings of the season. In the background are the sheds. Heaps of room up there for Chris to store his equipment so that it doesn't all litter my living room as it has done for the past sixteen years or so!
Here is Candice with the first of the Livestock to take up residence at Little Eden. Charlie and Baby are two little Angora goats, who are both still being bottle fed! Its like having babies in the house again because of all the early morning and late night feeds, bottles and milk formula etc etc! Babe is the littlest one just about to go into their little house and Charlie is still begging for food at Candies feet!Charlie was about 8 days old and baby about 4 days old when this picture was taken.
Now to introduce you to Molly, my adorable little Jersey calf, affectionately known as Molly-Moo. The moment I saw that little bag of bones with those soulful brown eyes I just knew she would be "molly-coddled" by one and all and in particular ME!In the last two weeks or so I have been proved correct too!
This picture was taken the evening we got her and she was still a little nervous, extremely skinny and more than a little hungry! The only bottle I had was the ones we use to feed the goats and the tiny teat was making her very frustrated. Hardly an auspicious beginning, but over the last few weeks she and I have come firm friends (ok in her case it's pure "cupboard love" but I can live with that for now)Her antics make me laugh, her warm muzzle nudging at my hands when she's looking for her bottle always brings a smile to my face for some reason and those eyes, well they could melt the coldest heart!
When I have more time I will fill in the gaps....the move, settling in, calf capers and various other goings on down under at Little Eden.
