TRIBUTE

For all those men and boys who fought in war,
who wore the uniforms of blue or green.
You left to face unknown and foreign shores
in camouflage fatigues you were not seen.
You stood there fully armed to your surprise
with courage found where fear once did reside.
The deadly foe rose strong before your eyes,
on radio we heard the news and cried.
Wars come and go - still unclear whom to blame
as husbands, fathers, brothers, and our sons
were sacrificed so freedom will remain.
In coffins veiled with flags, their job well done.
Americans fight proudly on front lines.
Our patriotic heroes we enshrine.
