The Clock King
This is the Clock King from his first appearance in The Clock King episode of B:TAS. He wore a brown coat and tan pants on this episode; later, in Time Out of Joint, he switched to a black suit. I didn't take the more traditional "B:TAS Riddler repaint" because I wanted him to be different from any other custom Clock Kings and to look as much like the CK from the show as possible. So, this figure is made from a lot of different parts:
First, I did the head. I carefully cut the hat off the Riddler head and cut the top portion of the Mr. Freeze head off just above the eyebrows. Then I glued the hat on and filled in any gaps with Sculpey. I also used Sculpey to add his hair (although it's hard to see in in the photo since most is on the sides and back of the head).
Once I started looking at how to put the head on the torso, I was again faced with a challenge. The Mr. Freeze head doesn't have a traditional neck peg, so I cut off the little one that was there, which effectively left him with no neck. I had the BF Two-Face head left over, so I cut the head off the neck just below the chin and glued the new head I made onto it. Then I filled in any gaps there with Sculpey.
Assembling the body was easy. I only had to make three changes to anything below the neck. First, I cut off the left hand, which was holding a pistol, and replaced it with a plain left hand. Second, to accomodate the way the jacket is done on the torso, I used a Dremel to rout out lines near the tops of each leg to continue the jacket line (that's the way the original BF Two-Face legs were sculpted).
Last, and this was purely based on personal preference, I repositioned the left arm of the figure. I made it more straight because I planned for him to hold a cane like he did on the show. I cut the arm at the elbow and removed any excess plastic that would make it too long when extended. Then I glued the two arm pieces back together (with a straight pin inside to give it strength) and filled in the gaps with Sculpey.
From there, the rest was just painting. Getting the clock hands on his
glasses right was the hardest part. I added a clock-hand cane accessory
that I cut from a sheet of styrene.
