This is a page where you can find the latest in screenwriting from Still Moving Pictures. We have some great (bad actually) literature, etc. to offer you.

Maneuver X

Ahhh, the first screenplay. We call it Maneuver X, and if you had to try to categorize or explain it, it would be best to say that it is an alcohol induced amalgamation of Swingers, Metropolitan and Caddyshack. The lack of a plot in this script is overcome by the underlying concept of it: that true love, like utopia, is a wonderful idea in theory, but it is entirely unattainable. At this point the first draft is completed, rolling in at 123 pages. I don't want to reveal too much of it here on my web page for fear that it's (non-)brilliance will be stolen, but I will include a few funny but non-representative and non-important scenes:

"Funny Things You Can Do With a Tissue"

"The Last Cigarette"

In Search of Barry Nils

The second screenplay from the Cousins, In Search of Barry Nils, is hopefully a step forward from the sophomoric writing that plagues the first. It deals with two characters who are searching for their place in life. They go to Providence to seek the advice of an old friend, but end up on a wild goose chase throughout the state of Rhode Island that includes an eccentric Russian named Nico who mumbles in a combination of three different languages because he forgot how to speak Russian but never completely learned Spanish or English. It is now finished (127 pages) and we think it is a far superior work to Maneuver X.

Stacks

Part III of the Trilogy is entitled Stacks and brings together the protagonists of Maneuver X and In Search of Barry Nils as mutual antagonists. This caper takes place in Barcelona, Spain, and pits a young American diplomat (Trafton) against the emergence of Russian organized crime (Caleb and Nico) in the city. Trafton must choose between the woman of his dreams and the chance to expose her father - the corrupt Catalan politician backing the mafia's endeavors. This script is currently being written (10% done).

More scripts in the works...

We have another idea for a screenplay that we're currently tossing around called Truck Stop America. It's a road film baby, inspired by Steinbeck's Travels With Charley and Kerouac's On the Road, but otherwise not resembling those novels in the slightest. Ask us about it.

Other writing from the Kids

Novels?

Yes! Trevs has recently finished his first novel entitled Pulling a Train. I love it. It's a cross between Faulkner on steroids, Henry James at the millenium, and a young foolish Kerouac. Sound intriguing? I hope so. He has also recently had an essay on the communist propagandist motivations for the Star Wars movies published in an Internet e-zine called Hookzine. He is currently working on his new novel entitled Tonite...Still Tonite (Again and Again).

Journals

Read what happens when you bump into an old flame that you haven't seen in four years (but only really knew for 2 weeks) and only have one night to spend with her before never seeing her again...(come on...read it!!!)
