i intend to keep this mildly anonymous. not telling anyone i know about this yet. not that i mind if anyone i know reads this. but it will be truthful.
i am a nearly legal drinking age female attending a four year public institution in the midwest where it doesnt matter if you are of legal drinking age. yes i drink. but that is not the basis of my existance. it seems to be for many of my cohorts. i do enjoy a glass of wine or a bit of baileys on the rocks. but anyway that is enough about me for starters. you will learn more.
so tonight i am going to a meeting about this trip that i am not sure i am going to get to go on. it is a two week journey out west to a navajo reservation in northeastern arizona. the purpose of it is to learn about the navajo culture and to learn how to build community. (yes it is through my university) i have never been west of kansas city, kansas. no - not where i live. i have also been intrigued by native american cultures for as long as i can remember. this trip would be a perfect opportunity for me to travel and experience life. cross your fingers for me. if anyone is out there.
