To Saint Joseph
Oh St Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God. I place in you all my interest and desires.
Oh St Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. So that, having engaged here below you heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
Oh St Joseph, I never weary contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while he reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath.

Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.
Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid.
Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me.
Say to my soul: "I am your salvation."
May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay.
May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them away;
may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them.
Since they hid their net for me without cause, and without cause dug a pit for me, may ruin overtake them by surprise - may the net they hid entangle them.
May they fall into the pit, to their ruin.
Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in His salvation.
My whole being will exclaim: "Who is like you, O Lord? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them." |
