The road to success is always under construction.

You are an old timer if you can remember when you could tell a
youngster the facts of life without getting into a debate.

In times of testing, there are always three things to be done; first
put up a good fight; second, go on with the course you are sure is
the right one; and third, keep the faith.

There is no fool like an old fool- you just can't beat experience.

Many a true word has been spoken through false teeth.

Unless we find beauty and happiness in our own backyard,
We will never find them in the mountains.

Time is not an enemy - unless you try to kill it.

We have to have the dull day, to appreciate the sunny one.
We have to have the shadow to appreciate the sunshine.

If you don't enjoy what you have, how could you
be happier with more?

Of course the average man has faith!. You can tell by the
way he drives his car.

Most things that make us sigh and fret, are those things
which haven't happened yet.

THE WAY IT WAS.
In the early thirties, times were hard and rough
And for many families the going was tough.
People worked diligently each passing day
For the love of their family - that was their pay.

On the farms, the men worked at the potatoes and hay
They fed the chickens, and milked cows each day.
The wives they baked, sewed, knit and cleaned too
There was nothing on the family farm, that they couldn't do.

At home, water was pumped, and heated till hot,
And used to scrub clothes, removing each spot.
Home made bread was a daily chore,
When it was fresh, everyone ate more.

The women deserve praise from each and everyone
For their work just never seemed to be done.
They were good mothers, citizens and friends,
Who loved their families to the bitter end.

Though they be gone, life is still there,
For their descendants are found everywhere.
They continue to farm and till the soil too
Just as their ancestors used to do.
