It touched me in a surprising way
Afterall it's just a color now I see
I never knew it would have this effect
That it could touch the heart of me
How'd you know to do this thing
It was so very simple in the act
But moved me in so simple a way
Is this very caring simple fact
I can't look now without a tear
Of what it's done to me
And why you may be wondering
I can never make you see
All my life I've tried to do
The "right" things for those around
To be the things they needed most
And I never made a sound
You did not know the need inside
Or perhaps you did I see
But when you did this simple thing
You forever touched the heart of me
