Have you ever had someone
love you, and you couldn't love them back?
Did you ever have someone
care so much, it threw you way off track?
Could you look them in
the eye and tell them to go away?
Or did you want to keep
them there just for a rainy day?
Did you know the pain
you caused by keeping them so close?
Could you feel the wrenching
hurt being near you exposed?
Will you ever open up
and let your heart run free?
Are you afraid that if
you do they will not then see?
Waiting for a chance at
love, on some future day,
Is like throwing pennies
in a well and wishing life away.
The things we want are
right at hand to grasp them we must do.
If waiting is the way
you go, then I may not wait for you.

the things you fear and wonder what may be.
'Cause in your cave you
can not know, you may lose sight of me.
I offered nothing but
a chance some slim possibility.
But in the darkness of

The oceans separate us

In in my deepest wondering
hopes with you I'll be one day.
