Trouble Brewing

I drop a penny into a wishing well

and watch the ripples form
What I wished doesn't matter now
I hear the beginning of a storm
A lightning bolt pierces the sky
as I hear the young colt's bay
As the sun turns out its warmth
I can feel it on its way
A sudden sound a flash of sight
The old woman feels it too
Forces brewing in this night
It's not safe for me or you
The cats they sense the danger there
Backs are arched--eyes are keen
A quiet now befalls this place
More ominous now it seems
There is no safety for the mind
No place to run and hide
The danger it will seek you out
In time it will abide
Stand your ground and face the west
One chance there'll be for you
Face the danger head to head
The only salvation left to do
