Superbugs

You have so much,
I have so little.

You use enough energy
to burn holes in the sky.

But you didn’t think that while you blink
I might unleash this vial of superbugs itching to get out.

I could plant super bombs on your biggest bridge,
your biggest city.

I could enter your dreams
armed with fear, tears and terror.

Don’t blink. The world shrinks every day.

We're internet connected.
Wired and wireless, neuralled together.
Becoming one.

And this mystery screen between you and me.
What’s it mean?

I look out to you. See you looking into me.

You see me look into you while
we both look out into neither of us…

And we can't help, that all the while
we are melting into a puddle of us...

Some presence is coming through us.
Beyond anyone's control.
In us, and throughout us.

And approaching there's a world
where there's no more bombs or superbugs for us.
