I used to have my doubts about the land my great grandparents came from (on my mother's side). How can you not in our American culture? During WWII, Americans were stoning weiner dogs in the streets, because of their hatred for Germany. While Hitler was burning and rewriting history, Americans were doing the same. They renamed sauerkraut to liberty cabbage and frankfurter to liberty steaks. The United States and Germany have never completely recovered from their past history. I'm here to set the records straight. If Germany didn't exist, a great deal of things dear to my heart wouldn't exist.
