Dear Friends,

I thank-you for coming to my page. This is a work in process, so please feel free to come here as much as you'd like to check my progress. This page has been a challenge to do. I simply wasn't sure how to proceed and what to put on it. Thanks to my Aunt in California, who sent me a poem written by a friend I was able to firm up what I wanted in it.

A bit about me: I am well into the thirty-something age bracket and have found myself facing a fair amount of challenges. However, because of good friends (like you), I have not only survived, but have emerged a better person. I thank-you for this gift. I have the title "Mommy" to five children, Joshua, Casandra, Anna, Ernest & Sarah. They are truly the lights of my life!

Hopefully in December I will graduate from nursing school and take my boards to be a Registered Nurse. This goal seemed unattainable after I got sick. However, with the right doctors, correct medication (and dose), this dream is obtainable. From there, I am torn as to which areas of nursing I would like to do. I would like to work with chronically ill children, HIV/AIDS or with hospice. Each one of these areas poses a challenge, however the rewards obtained by these far outweigh the challenges.

Life is most certainly precious and should be celebrated with each victory as well as each defeat. Birth and death deserve an equal share in celebration. Granted when someone we love goes on ahead of us we are sad and miss his or her presence. However, the pain and suffering they experience ends when they leave. We as those that are left behind are charged with letting go. This is not to suggest trying to forget the person, but to allow them the peace by releasing the grip we hold in our hearts. I feel very strongly that a person has not truly 'died' until we stop thinking about them and sharing memories.

The present goal of this page is to be a place where people can come and gain strength or to simply slow down enough to appreciate all the wonderful gifts we are blessed with.

I welcome you and celebrate the gift of your friendship!

May the Peace of the Lord Be Always With You! (Episcopalian Greeting)

Fondly,

Debbie "Frusty"
